Face Lift

A Face Lift or rhytidectomy is a procedure which lifts the skin and on occasion the underlying muscle. This is done to make the skin appear smoother and more youthful. There are a number of techniques to choose form but generally a face lift is performed by making an incision in the hairline at the temple. The incision then runs to the front of the ear and around to the back of the ear and carries on through the hairline to the other ear. A cut can also be made under the chin to improve sagging jowls. The skin is then separated from the muscles, muscles are tightened and excess fat is removed. The skin is lifted and pulled back to appear tighter and any extra skin is trimmed away. The results can last up to ten years.
